Thanks Thom, for a wonderful Christmas Countdown – loved every link.

You really can’t stay. You gotta go away. Ah, but Baby it’s Cold outside. It’s freezing out there. Look out the window – it’s up to your knees out there! Take off your coat and that fur hat. Don’t despair. Pull up a chair. You ain’t goin’ nowhere. Hey! lookie here! I got just the […]

POEM: Vacuuming

With every pull toward your body

you expect obedience.

Expect each tiny micron of dirt

to be sucked up and away –

captured.  Tied

neatly in a disposable bag

then tossed out with the rubbish.

Controlled.  Dealt with, put out.

Never mind – away – forget.

Look at the attention you give stairs?

Suck one way – consistently,

pulling reticent fluff – not letting

it roll out of reach.  I always

give you that same

attention to detail – insist on

being thorough – maximum

pleasure. A consistent suck.

How do I become like stairs?

The Christmas Dinner has been cleared away. Shoes kicked off. Cigar lit. A very generous measure of hot buttered Rum poured. Now, you need a smoother than smooth sound to maintain the mood. Nothing better than Bonnie Raitt with Rhythm & Blues legend Charles Brown with a sultry duet version of, ‘Merry Christmas Baby’. Now, […]
